Baculovirus Capsid Surface Display Service

Baculovirus Capsid Surface Display Service Except for fusing with GP64 protein, the foreign can also be surface displayed through fusion with nucleocapsid protein. VP39 is the major nucleocapsid protein in AcMNPV. The VP39 protein monomer is lined around the stacked rings of baculovirus nucleoprotein core abundantly. The protein of interest can be displayed along the capsid surface by fusing them to VP39.

Service Description

The foreign fragment was inserted into VP39 through routine procedure and displayed on the capsid of the virus. The location of the protein display is shown in the figure.

Baculovirus Capsid Surface Display Service

Technology Applications

Our customers usually require our capsid display service for the purposes of

  • Study the transduction route of baculovirus in mammalian cells from the cell surface into the nucleus
  • Elucidate the internalization and intracellular trafcking pathways of baculovirus in both insect and vertebrate cells
  • Other imaging studies
  • Enable nuclear delivery of therapeutic proteins to achieve the desired treatment efects as efectively as current protein transduction methods

Technology Advantages

Compared with other fusion strategies, the capsid display exhibit the advantages of

  • The protein is only displayed around the stacked ring thus less interference for virus assembly
  • High levels of protein display due to the abundant VP39 protein amount
  • The display uniformly distributed along the surface
  • Large capacity—— 41 KD or even larger protein is able to be displayed
  • Ability fo accommodate both N- and C- terminal protein fusions due to the flexibility of capsid protein.
